Visit Group is proud to announce a strategic partnership with Brittany Ferries, one of Europe’s leading ferry operators, to accelerate the company’s digital transformation and enhance its customer experience. This collaboration marks a significant step for both companies as they work together to modernize travel and holiday booking experiences.

Maria Mathieu, Head of Digital Products at Brittany Ferries, is leading the charge on the company’s digital initiatives. Her teams are responsible for a wide range of digital solutions, including Brittany Ferries' commercial websites, mobile app, pre-check-in application, and reservation systems.

"Visit Group’s proven experience with other ferry operators was a key factor in our decision," said Mathieu. "We needed a partner with deep industry knowledge and a scalable solution that could align with our evolving technical landscape."

Brittany Ferries faced challenges with its legacy systems, which had become outdated and no longer supported the company’s strategic ambitions. As part of a broader digital migration plan, the ferry operator sought a flexible and modern solution that could replace critical legacy modules.

After a comprehensive evaluation of in-house development versus third-party solutions, Visit Group emerged as the best fit. "We concluded that Visit Group’s project delivery and operating model offered better value," Mathieu explained. "Beyond cost-effectiveness, their expertise, ability to deliver on time, and commitment to continuous technical updates were decisive."

A standout feature of Visit Group’s platform is its existing integration with the FerryGateWay standard, a major factor in Brittany Ferries’ choice. The modular structure and functionality of the platform also allow seamless integration into Brittany Ferries’ broader digital ecosystem.

Mathieu emphasized the benefits of real-time availability and pricing capabilities: "This functionality is critical in helping us meet our commercial objectives. Moreover, the flexibility of the platform enables us to tailor the digital user experience, which is essential to our success."

Through this partnership, Brittany Ferries aims to decommission legacy systems and accelerate the delivery of an improved holiday booking program. The partnership supports the company’s broader ambition to deliver a fully integrated digital holiday experience and reinforce its position as a trusted expert in the destinations it serves.

"Our goal is to increase holiday passenger volumes by 15% over the next five years," said Mathieu. "With Visit Group, we’re confident we have the right partner to help us achieve that."

The collaboration underscores Visit Group’s ongoing commitment to powering digital innovation across the travel and experience industry.
