De Historiske and VISIT Group Are Redefining the Modern Hotel Experience

Norwegian hotel group De Historiske is taking a bold step forward in how it delivers for guests. By bringing booking, packaging, and experiences together on a single platform, the group is cutting through administrative complexity, and giving its teams more time to focus on what they do best: hospitality.

Building on an existing relationship, De Historiske is deepening its partnership with hospitality tech company VISIT Group. The ambition is straightforward: make every stage of the guest journey smoother, from the moment someone starts searching to the time they head home, while making life easier for the people running the hotels.

Many of De Historiske's member hotels already use VisBook as their PMS (Property Management System). That foundation is now being extended with additional VISIT modules covering online booking, B2B distribution, and experience packaging — creating a cohesive, destination-led platform across the group.

"Delivering seamless guest experiences with a consistently high level of service is central to our strategy. VISIT Group is one of our most important technology partners — they give us the tools to back up our hospitality with equally strong digital solutions. We're excited about what we'll be able to offer the market together."

– Nils Henrik Geitle, CEO, De Historiske

More Revenue, Less Friction

For De Historiske's member hotels, the practical benefits are significant:

  • Sell complete stays, not just rooms: Easily bundle accommodation, dining, spa, and activities into a single, seamless booking flow.
  • Grow conference and events business: Streamlined digital processes make handling course and conference bookings far less cumbersome.
  • Create a joined-up guest journey: A consistent, connected experience before, during, and after every visit.
  • Free up staff time: Less jumping between systems means less duplicated effort — and more time spent with guests.

Beyond Bed Nights: Building Real Destinations

Something is shifting across the hotel industry. Guests no longer just want a place to sleep — they want an experience worth remembering. That means hotels need to think beyond their four walls and tap into everything their location has to offer. Done well, it's also a significant commercial opportunity.

De Historiske and VISIT Group are squarely focused on this opportunity — combining deep mutual trust with a shared drive to raise the bar for what modern travel can look like.

Through the VISIT platform — including BookVisit and VisBook — guests can browse and book short breaks that span multiple De Historiske properties, weaving together some of Norway's most characterful hotels, restaurants, and local experiences into a single, coherent journey. Accommodation, meals, and activities all sit within the same booking flow, making it genuinely easy to plan a complete trip.

Whether that's a fjordside stay with a cruise thrown in, a night at a historic manor house, or a locally rooted hotel experience, the platform brings it all together. The result: better distribution, stronger visibility for individual members, and a guest experience that feels considered from start to finish.

Seeing It in Action: Finnskogtoppen Spa & Wellness

Finnskogtoppen Spa & Wellness is a great example of what's possible. Set in a stunning natural environment, the property operates as a destination in its own right — and its entire offering is built around packages. By combining VisBook and BookVisit, the team can manage accommodation, spa bookings, and add-ons within a single, connected flow, with no manual workarounds needed.

"Our whole concept is built on packages, and the combination of VisBook and BookVisit makes that genuinely seamless — from the moment a guest books online to the moment they arrive. It's a better experience for them, and it saves our team an enormous amount of time that we can put back into looking after our guests."

– Therese Eriksson, Marketing & Revenue Manager, Finnskogtoppen Spa & Wellness
